On Nov. 16, the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Building Technologies Office released up to $5 million for its first American-Made Buildings Prize, called the Envelope Retrofit Opportunities for Building Optimization Technologies (E-ROBOT) Prize. The E-ROBOT Prize will open new opportunities for the buildings and construction workforce by incentivizing the development of advanced robotic capabilities and controls for building envelope retrofits.
The E-ROBOT Prize is a set of two successive competitions that offer participants up to $4 million in cash prizes for competitors and an additional $1 million in recognition awards for Connectors and competitor support in the American-Made Network. Recognition rewards are available to Connectors who support any eligible winning or non-winning team in the prize.
