Drill press fixed - 2026-05-21

Drill press “return spring”. Might be broken. Press dropped while i was adjusting drill depth. Has to be manually held up before drilling anything. Something seemed to snap while i was checking range of motion.

OFTAA

thanks for letting us know. I’ll look at it when I get back into town later this week.

Table saw blade won’t go up or down. Blade was up when i used the machine, couldn’t be stowed afterwards. The lock on the tablesaw height adjustment lock was not very tight. Maybe snug at best. Height adjustment wheel turns loose and ineffectively now even with the lock knob tightened.

Only the “push to stop” switch on the Tablesaw was in the off position when i arrived. Touch surprised when the bandsaw suddenly turned on when i pulled the red “Push to Stop” button. Maybe that’s SOP? No harm. Yellow off switch was still on when i arrived. Double-checked that both tablesaw switches were in the off position before i left.

I broke the red grommet surrounding the large bandsaw blade. I had a piece of wood jump when i was using the large bandsaw causing the damage.

The lock on the large bandsaw height adjustment is amazingly tight. I can’t begin to turn it. Can’t adjust the height of the bandsaw height (spacing?) adjustment.

SMall signs placed on all three tools.

Ok, first, please don’t lump a whole bunch of problems with different machines into a thread titled drill press issue.

I’ll have a look at things this evening. It is unfortunately common for people to leave the table saw turned on. (I’m assuming that you meant that when you referenced the push to stop paddle.)

Last, if a machine is broken, please use the lockout box so that other users don’t injure themselves or further damage the equipment.

Thank you for the feedback. I was feeling weird being involved in three broken machines in one week. I’d like to talk to you about that sometime.

Drill press quill return spring has been replaced and the drill press functions as it should.
