I used it yesterday and noticed the chuck couldn’t be turned by hand because it turned the whole spindle.

Drill press chuck is cleaned and lubed and operates like it should again.
This is what it looked like inside, and why it was a little sticky. I have no idea what the yellow stuff was. Reminded me of wood putty. The grey stuff has the consistency of thick modeling clay.
