The title says it all, does a list of Active Classes exist (ideally not just the calendar)?
Not to my knowledge. Classes exist in state of flux, so keeping an accurate list of active* classes could be difficult. I don’t know how hard it would be to organize scheduled classes into another format than the calendar, but I wouldn’t want to overburden the events guys.
*Definition of active?
*I guess active in my opinion is either regularly scheduled or has a curriculum that is used upon request.
I really have two reasons for asking.
1: To see what classes are available for me to absorb as much as possible. For example, there isn’t a listed class for the plasma cutter as far as I can see? Is that by request or just a “get someone to teach you and Rusty to signoff”
2: To see if there is a opening that I could potentially help cover. I am not the most experienced person by far, but I like teaching and would love to lend a hand.
I have a list of everything I teach on the Wiki under Textile Classes. Textiles - MakeICT Wiki
I have placed some classes on here . I hope I havent offended anyone , I havent listed all but if there is something else you may be looking at . Please let me know. We have some jewelry classes also , wood turning classes . We would love for you to teach some classes . Bev
Generally the answer is no, because there are unfortunately differences in it. I have gone through and made lists manually, but it looks like the last time I did was 2018.
I’ve tried to do it programmatically, but it seems either I can’t find that or it didn’t work, so unfortunately the calendar is close to the best currently for anything recent.
If I have some free time to play with it, I’ll see about updating it. (At least 2020 should be easy! Gotta look for those few unexpected pandemic benefits!)
Classes that are on the schedule are listed on the Events/Calendar page on the website. There’s a link there to see all of them, which are the screen shots that Bev shared above. MakeICT - Events
I do have a list of classes listed on the wiki for the metalshop, but I need to go in and clean up the page a little bit … The plasma cutter class is generally rolled in with MIG welding, but I can talk to John Miranda about doing a special plasma cutter tips and tricks class.

You can also go to MakeICT.org and request a class.
Classes are typically done by members at their initiation… and it is difficult to predict what the folks will want to teach. You can talk to the lead of any area and they will be able to tell you what classes are usually offered. If you are looking for a particular class, you can fill out the Class request form or email events@makeict.org.
