When I arrived last night, the bench grinder in the hot shop was unplugged. There was no note as to why but both grinding wheels are loaded with aluminum. Aluminum will clog the grinding surface and drastically reduce grinding efficiency usually causing the operator to push the material harder into the wheel. This heats the wheel and can cause the wheel to come apart, sometimes rather dramatically (Hint: wear your safety glasses around a grinder at all times).
