I spent some time today writing a script to add active MakeICT Members to a special Discourse group. Currently this group doesn’t do much other than add a default Title of “MakeICT Member” to the user and a green dot with the MakeICT logo next to the user’s picture. In the future it is possible we will use this group to restrict certain categories or discussions if they have information that shouldn’t be publicly accessible. We’ll probably also do some fun stuff like adding badges for authorizations and things.
You should be able to see this green dot on any posts you have made, or on your profile by clicking your avatar in the upper right corner and then clicking your userame. If you do not see the dot It is most likely because you didn’t use the same email for Discourse as you did for your MakeICT Membership. To remedy this situation you will need to change one or the other email so that they both match. This will not update your group membership immediately, but will sync overnight.
