Made a small plant for my GF’s desk. She doesn’t like valentine’s day, so I made it a 2-days-after-valentine’s-day gift. Mix of blacksmith and metalshaping was used. Blackened with canola oil.
Funny thing, when I watch Torbjörn Åhman make stuff and use an angle grinder, I always think, that’s cheating. Last night, making the stem, the thinning at the top was taking too long, so I got out an angle grinder and thinned it down, then did some more forging. Afterward, I thought about how hypocritical that was. I guess I’ll go easy on him from now on!
