DC controller / Motor test

I am looking for assistance testing a 90 Volt DC motor and speed controller from a scrollsaw.

The motor runs erratically. Motor brushes have been replaced.

I suspect the speed controller can be bypassed for testing purposes and the motor hooked directly up to a power supply in the electronics lab. That would let you verify that the motor itself is indeed operating properly and therefore let you make the assumption that the speed controller is faulty.

And when can this be done ?

I’m an hour out from MakeICT so need to confirm date / time.
