Crochet Viking Baby Hat needed

Id like to commission a maker to make me a Crochet Viking Baby hat like the photo below. I can buy one online but I’d like to support a Maker. Send me a message if you’d like the job. I’ll pay $20 for it or trade some 3D printing or quilting.

Just a heads up, the yarn alone would be at least half of what you are offering.

Why not just buy it online where you got the photo?

Are we buyers or makers? Riddle me this!

So cute

Brian, I can make you one of those (it won’t look exactly the same, because I don’t have a pattern to work off of), but I do need to know what circumference that you would need to fit the head. The picture looks like a newborn, but I cannot tell.

Brian, I’m sorry for my negativity. I try to keep on top of things around here and sometimes I get a little flippant. I think the hat is adorable!!!

Trolls in every group lol!

On another note I need a baby now so I have a need for this absolutely adorable hat. Lol!

Scott, Thank you for your kind offer to help. After being told my $20 offer was too cheap, I bought one online for $10. Someday I’d like you to show me how it’s done though. Your offer means a lot to me. Let me know if there’s ever anything I can help you with.

Brian I know there are looms out there that one could buy or 3D print (I got several myself I have bought as a set) professional crochet people consider these cheating I consider them shortcuts! They are super easy to use and can make tube like items hats socks scarves and other stuff you can imagine like those hats the ring sizes are limited to what they are but a clever person might be able to make smaller for stuff like horns. I know you already bought it but if you want to explore these are a great way to dip your toes into crochet.
I have even seen diy looms Frankenstein together using a pop bottle duct tape and chopsticks.

Thank you Frank, I have seen these when I had a house full of girls. Didn’t think of that now. I may just give printing one a go. 1st grandson due in May and he has Scandinavian heritage, so I though it would be fun.

If you do print one I think the rectangle ones would be better as you can adjust size by using less of the loom.
Not sure how 3D printed ones would hold up due to layers being a weak point but would love to see what you come up with and make if you decide to try it keep us posted.

Uffda! Uffda! Himmel och pannkakor! Grattis farfar! Since you have already picked up a horned helmet, maybe a 3D printed or wooden carved dala horse for that little tyke. I would be happy to show you crochet.

You should totally take up Scott’s offer to teach you to crochet. I love crocheting because without too much time, you can totally get something done … when you start, get the big chenille yarn and it takes very little time to make a scarf…

Mmmm, maybe not the best thing to say on a maker forum. It comes across as “I’d like to support a maker, but not if they want a fair price for materials and labor. Then it’s off to buy some factory- or sweatshop-made thing from China.”

Heres a few inexpensive patterns for sale (less than $5 each)
