I’d like to have an in-depth lesson on the router. Coukd we schedule a class?
I would love this as well. That thing has always been intimidating to me so I’ve never used it
Are you talking about this guy?
Or this guy?
You’ll need authorization for the Shopbot (the second one), and should talk to @squarenuts (Aaron Rivers). @doug.wilson taught me when he was woodshop lead.
If you already have authorization but want to get better at it, Aaron might also be able to help with that.
For anyone wanting a class on routers (not cnc routers, but relevant information will be covered) I am planning Router Deep Dive, TableSaw Deep Dive, and Milling classes for late August/early September. Please let me know if there are certain days of the week that work best or if there are any off-limits-dates for you.
The Deep Dive classes will be 4-1/2 hours (including a 15 minute break. There will be some hands on, but largely consist of lecture and demonstration. The main emphasis will be use, but we will also try to get into the guts of how these tools are built and how other examples might differ from the ones we have at MakeICT.
Milling covers using the jointer, planer, and tablesaw to eliminate warp and dimension our lumber.
Happy making!
Not the cnc, there’s a table router in the room with the jointer, planer. We talked about it a little at shop authorization

I’m interested, but not 8/20 or anything close to Labor Day.
Weekday evenings would work best for me. I usually can’t get away on weekends unless it’s later Sunday evening.
I would appreciate those classes. If it’s 4 1/2 hours in session, Saturday (any time) or Sunday afternoon would probably work best.
