Thought there might be someone in the group that would be interested - if you’re not familiar with ifixit, they are a great resource for parts, and repair info for a variety of things. I just spent $150 for a magsafe port and battery for my laptop and changed them myself - Apple wanted a $600 for the battery install alone.

I actually do this as a side business, I take used laptops and upgrade/repair them and then sell them at what I think is a good price. It keeps the waste out of the landfill and repurposes old tech and brings it hopefully to better standards. There are some that I can’t do much with, but if anyone has a need for a good used laptop then hit me up!
