The hydraulic cylinder that allows for the bandsaw to lower slowly isn’t working properly, it locks up partway through the travel and won’t lower enough to cut most materials.

Is there any material blocking the hinge point? This is normally where a partial stroke movement stop happens, not in the cylinder itself. Just a thought.

The white knob controls rate of drop! Back it off for faster feed into the work!
The lever locks the cylinder closed or open, do not use lever to control rate of drop!
You can test this without a part in the vise to get rate of drop close before actually starting
a cut then fine tune it while cutting!
Blade will plunge too fast with Thin Wall Tubes so slow it down!
6 inch thick solid material will take a lot longer remember not to press or put weight on saw it will cause blade to distort and wander, you wont get a nice square cut !
