Hi! I have been interested in making ceramic dnd dice, but im worried about the dice being balanced. Idk much about the science of the clay body once it is fired. I was just wondering if the dice being balanced after firing would be a concern, or if it should be fine. My plan is to make them solid all the way through. Also i figured they could be left unglazed bc it would be a huge pain to glaze fire a bunch of tiny things w no hole or loop to hang them from.

As long as you try to minimize the amount of void in the dice balance shouldn’t be an issue. In making resin dice thats sort of where balance comes into play is the pockets of air or how solids sit. It should be negligible either way and/or can be adjusted by layers of paint or drilling pip holes for the numbers of different sizes/depths.
Tldr I wouldn’t worry.

I suggest a large hollow form to place on a shelf. Put a ball inside as a rattle and vent the hollow form so it doesn’t have an URD. You got this.
