I was able to grok the Doppler shift and inferred the red/blue.
You know, when my daughters were little, but old enough to understand that I was colorblind, they’d go “Hey, Daddy…what color is this? HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA”

I was a little ornery as a child. When I figured out my dad couldn’t tell the difference between the shampoo and conditioner bottles without his glasses on… I became a problem. 🥸
Have y’all watched smarter everyday’s interview with one of the head scientists working on the webb telescope? He talks about the red shift and how it affected the design.
