I locked out the miter saw tonight. When I went to use it, it seemed to be making some noise as if there was a gear going bad. But it uses a belt, so there shouldn’t be those noises. Maybe a chunk of wood made it’s way into the belt housing? Or a pulley is coming apart? Not sure and didn’t have time to tear into it.
It’s been making that noise for a while. I’ll see what I can find out about it this week.

I stopped by this evening and looked at the saw. The driven pulley for arbor is worn and the key is nearly sheared off. This has been getting this way for awhile. If parts have not been ordered, I would like to do so, or for @doug.wilson to do so. I can fix it once the parts arrive.
I had completely forgot to come look at that. Thanks for attending to it. I’ll make the order. Is the link to the part posted here?
Even better, it’s past due for nominations for a new woodshop lead. I have too many other distractions keeping me from maintaining it. I am happy to teach the next lead how to teach a class or two.

Parts are ordered. Hopefully they’ll be here in time for me to install them next weekend.
Parts are still enroute. They shipped via UPS mail innovations which roughly translates to slow boat to Timbuktu before it gets on the slow boat from china. So far it’s been almost a week for the parts to get to Wichita from Arkansas and they’re not here yet.
ETA: looks like the parts will be here on Monday.
Bosch miter saw is fixed.
