Only one unfortunate casualty
. The broken plate was stacked with a few other plates on top, my theory is that the weight of the plates put it under stress when firing and it wasn’t able to handle it. The other plates in the stack look great though!

I need to clarify: I meant the small mini frogs! So cute!!
I did not load this kiln - but from the photo that plate looks rather thick. Plates are tricky. The clay needs to be well compressed. Too thin and too thick both have greater risk in the kiln. Many plates come through cracked andor warped regardless of how they are placed in the kiln- they are a tricky item to successfully complete.
