Best Laser Printer for Home and Office Use Expert Advice

I have been researching the best laser printer for the past few days because I need one for both home and office use. I read reviews on websites like the New York Times Wirecutter, Consumer Reports, and Popular Mechanics, and they consistently rate the following two laser printers as top choices.

Brother HL-L2350DW Monochrome Laser Printer

HP LaserJet Pro MFP M281fdw Wireless Color Laser Printer

However, I am having trouble deciding which one would best suit my needs and I am looking for expert advice.

For context, I will be using the printer for documents, school work, occasional photos, and business printing. I need good print quality, reliable performance, wireless connectivity, and reasonable running costs. Easy setup and compatibility with both Windows and macOS are also important to me.

So which laser printer would you recommend based on these needs, or is there another model I should consider? Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

I’ve been very happy with my brother laser printer. Mine is the 2460, so not the same model. Over the years I’ve done to dislike many of the things that companies like HP have done with ink subscriptions and the like, so I’m jaded and avoid them when I can. I have no experience with that printer though.

I too would recommend the Brother printers for general purpose monochrome laser printing. As a bonus, if you ever want to run a Linux computer, Brother printers are usually very easy to set up and compatible with Linux systems.
