Our ninth featured ceramicist is known for her fantastic glazing results and beautiful bowls. Rhonda has a BFA in painting and drawing from WSU. Born in Baltimore, she grew up in Georgia and Mississippi, but mostly Oklahoma which she considers her home. Rhonda is happily married and has three boys, two dogs, a cat, and a rabbit.

Why Ceramics: Enjoy the tactile aspect of it. Being able to take a piece of clay and turn it into something that creates a bond with other people through function and beauty. Enjoy the ‘hospitality’ aspect of creating bowls and cups that invite people to share and enjoy what is offered.
Biggest Ceramics Challenge: Slowing down and being mindful. Paying attention to movement in the process and not rushing it.
What’s Next: Want to take a couple months to focus on cups with handles and small Japanese cups.
Hobbies: Knitting, wood working, ceramics (of course), pretty much anything art related.
