Assistance with a Metal Snap

So, I need a single DOT snap installed on a pair of goggles. The last one came loose and fell off. Does anybody have the proper equipment to help me set a new one?

Here are some photos of the goggles, the snap button, and the set hole.

Thanks,
Aaron

From the looks of it, the base and the snap just connect, but from what I’ve read some “device” is used to connect them.

Yes, these use a tool that looks like a pair of pliers or a setting tool that you hit with a hammer.

Yep, this seems to be the most popular model, but I’m not hyped to drop $40 on something I may only use once.

You can get a punch you strong with a mallet but these come in multiple sizes and you need one that fits your snaps. Tandy leather has the punches in multiple sizes, if I remember correctly they are under $10 each. You will also need a solid surface that you don’t mind marring to place under the snap and a mallet of some kind. A hammer may work in a pinch but make sure to wear safety glasses if you do because it is possible to send sharp shards of metal flying at very high speed when you strike a hardened steel tool with a hammer.

I feel like I should have that but I can’t find it. Sorry
