Air compressor is down - Nov 2023

The air compressor sprung a leak and no longer holds pressure. Since it is a rated pressure vessel, we can not weld the hole shut and put it back into service. We are not completely fudged though. We have a spare tank from when the other one went ka-puts on Douglas.

Larry has offered to take the time tomorrow to swap out the components to the other tank we have.

Was it pitting from internal rusting/moisture or hard to tell?

Most likely from internal rust.

Larry kicked some butt and Frankenstein’ed the new compressor parts to the old compressor tank and got the system back up and running Thursday.

We’ve verified that the tank is holding pressure and have put the compressor back into service.
