AI idea

How’s this…

AI monitors use of the space. You come in and make a mess, AI locks the door until you clean up your mess. Leave s window open? AI locks the door until you close and latch it. Break something? AI locks the door until you notify somebody about it.

I guess I should have known that being the lead would mostly mean being the janitor for the area, and maybe I did. When the notion of shutting down the woodshop came up because there was no lead, I thought, no we can’t let that happen. The woodshop is a significant draw for many members. I can’t let that happen.

But… This crap has me questioning whether it was worth stepping up to me the lead to keep the woodshop open.

I know when I come in to teach woodshop safety, I can count on there being a mess and the band saw guards being up, or the table saw power is still on. I don’t want examples on how not to leave the woodshop for what is you shouldn’t do when leaving the space.

Last weekendI found this fence on the ground while in the class for the small band saw.

What a bummer.

I was taught that I should clean up after I use a space, and even if its a small cut on a piece of wood that takes 5 minutes, I always sweep the floor. We gotta do better than that  I’m so sorry.

We should probably hook back up the band saws to the Vac system. @whateg01 is there a list of things you want to accomplish?

There a list I made when I first raised my hand. Not much has changed, unfortunately.

I don’t use the shop but I can commiserate. We have the same problems in Textiles. Spills not cleaned up, threads lint all over and stuff just left in strange places. We have made some progress, but not a lot. Cleaning products are even available at the front of the room.
