@Directors, tracking down a water leak that is not obvious may be very difficult. It may be a better idea to call the water department and ask them to come check the meter to see if we have a leak from out there. Whoever the bill goes to will have to be the person to contact them.
There may be a leak but I also think it might be that we got a dubble month for water and it was higher than this month. Also I am working to get the meter numbers so as to look at it there.
Look for leaks if we have any obvious ones they due need to be fixed but I will let you know on any others

We have no current point of contact for MakeICT.
To change that we must:
submit a list of people authorized to inquire about the water bill.
It must be on our letterhead and include our EIN and Customer Number.
We can email it to watercustomerservice@wichita.gov
so they read the meter on August 25th and we had used 28,500 gallons. They came back and read it again on September 1st and we had used 36,000 gallons, so 7500 gallons in 7 days. @ThePiedPiper42 are y’all watering a lot? I will check the toilets this evening but it seems unlikely to be a leak there unless we have an unreported stuck valve.
Yes, we are watering at least once a day due to the high heat. Normally we water every other day.
7500 gallons/wk seems like a lot to me though.
Although I wouldn’t expect us to be the spike in water usage because we started watering more frequently in July.
I am at the space… so I checked and didn’t see any running toilets. I sometimes catch the sink in the bathroom next to the office on. You kind of have to fiddle with it to get it to turn off.
I have to turn the faucet in the bathroom next to the president’s office off all the time. Practically e ery time I use the bathroom. Can that be fixed? It is just a very small stream, but … if it runs a lot …
Yes, for some reason we have a user or users that refuse to reseat the faucet handle to stop the flow, sometimes it requires a bit of fiddling. We will look at replacing it, that may solve the problem.

If it requires fiddling, it’s reasonable to assume that many users are just going to leave it dripping, intentional or not.
A dripping faucet isn’t causing 1000 gallons/day. Is the meet an old school meet with a dual that can be observed? Or is it all electronic? If it has a dial, can anybody see it spinning?
We did some testing tonight. The “trickle faucet” runs about .1 Gal/minute. So it would be 6 Gal/hour or 144 Gal/day.
The garden faucet is about 4.5 Gal/minute with the hose/sprayer attached or 6 Gal/minute with nothing attached. So if all 3 were running for an hour we would easily hit 1000 Gallons in a day.
But is the meter still spinning now? Or is the “leak” fixed?
The meter is digital and reads flow down to .01 GPM. When we shut everything off, the meter GPM flow dropped to zero.
Yesterday I discovered that the toilet flush handle in the Northeast bathroom is broken and under the right circumstances it can hold the tank refill valve open. I will get parts and replace that plus the valve on the sink in the other bathroom.
Thanks also once again the sink by the office bathroom (right one) is difficult to shut off completely this could be another issue for water consumption.
Yes, that does add up. I’m still confused though. Why would we not see the increase until now?

1/2": 0.9 gal/hour
