Hey folks,
Another 3D Printer Authorization class is up. If you come early, it’s the same day as Brunch with the Board and you can grab some grub!
Also, I would like to push beyond the “basics” in some areas and I feel like 3D printers is a relatively easy area to do that in. Ideas for things to include in a “3D Printing 102 (maybe even 103?)” courses:
- Mid-print filament swaps (the poor-man’s AMS/MMU)
- PrusaSlicer modifiers (particularly negative space)
- Stopping mid-print to place things in a print
- Playing with SVGs to emboss, deboss
- Vase mode
Wouldn’t want to do too much in one as I’d like to keep it to 2ish hours including printing, but if anyone has ideas feel free to toss them out there.
Finally, everyone’s favorite thing. Housekeeping: In digging through authorizing all the people who took the class last night, I noticed a lot of people who use the 3D printers aren’t actually, well, authorized. I am not going to @ a whole bunch of people here, but if you have access to the tool maybe go take a look? Or feel free to message me and I can look it up.
Peer authorization is still totally cool for the 3D printers, we just need to be logging that somewhere. And I’m willing to peer authorize anyone who doesn’t want to pay to take the class too, you just have to be able to demonstrate to me you understand the process without me having to basically teach it all to you.
