Facilities Committee is looking for volunteers for lawn maintenance. The lawn needs mowed and hit with the line trimmer. You are welcome to bring your own equipment, but we do have equipment in the maintenance shop. If anyone is available to do it this week, that would be great. If not, then it certainly will need to be done next weekend. If you need some instructions, let us know and someone can meet you and run through the equipment.
We have been mowing every other weekend. We likely only have a few more rotations this year.
Spent the last 4 hours edging. Lots of string and gas, it was well over due. Ran outta time to mow but the sidewalks are covered in trimmings. I hope the mower can blow it clean in the next day or two.
Mowing is done and sidewalks are cleaned up. I left a large brush pile on the south sidewalk from trimming the oak to make it easier to mow. Need someone to repurpose or haul off.
We are out of mowing gas. I filled the cans last time, hoping someone else or the space gets it this time.
Was that all of the side walks? That sounds about like the same amount of time it usually takes me to do along mt. Vernon, the walkways to the garden, and Drollinger.
Do I need to grab another blade for the edger?
I’ll see about filling up the gas cans this evening.
A couple of things I noticed while working on the yard:
there is a lot of trash in our yard, in the gutters and on the creek bank. Could we gather every month or two just for a trash clean up?
It was difficult mowing and trimming around the garden area. The gardeners should keep mowers in mind when developing their area. There were chunks of concrete, wood scraps and wire mesh hidden in the tall grass. And again, trash and unorganized piles of stuff.
I would like our place to stand out as better than the surrounding neighborhood.
The garden committee ostensibly maintains the courtyard area. Sometimes better than yard maintenance, sometimes not. Please do not mow out there.

This is a day to celebrate all the grouches we know — or to embrace the grouch that lives inside all of us. On this day no one can stop us from complaining, being irritable, or wallowing in misery.
While I don’t have any care to be “better than the surrounding neighborhood” whatsoever, I do share a desire for making MakeICT the best it can be.
