Wichita Sedgwick County Food and Farm Council

I know that not all of you live in Sedgwick County, but for those that do, you may be interested in applying for one of the positions to serve on the newly in development Food & Farm Council. They are looking for members that play a wide range of roles in the food system, so don’t be shy if you are interested.

The Food and Farm Council members should reflect the diversity of residents of the City of Wichita and Sedgwick County, including ethnicity, race, gender, ability, gender identity, religion, sexual orientation, socio-economic status, and age. The fourteen voting members appointed shall serve on the Food and Farm Council as subject matter experts and liaisons to important food systems partners with consideration from the following groups: urban food producers, urban food retailers, emergency food assistance programs, food justice, and equity groups, food distributors, institutional food purchasers, and coalitions or organizations in health, food systems, and community development. The City of Wichita has appointed members in Districts 1, 4, and 6. If you live in these districts, you can still apply because appointments are by sector, not district.
