Who pulled up my ginger?

Any idea who pulled up the ginger?

I’m not mad but I am sad.

That was me. I’m so sorry! I thought it was a weed.

Can it just go back in?

Maybe?

I’m not sure if the rhizome is large enough. Also, there isn’t enough time for it to reach maturity.

Thank you for answering, I’ll try again next year.

How long has it been out? It hasn’t blossomed yet, so not ready to harvest. But it might still be salvageable if replanted. Coming from someone who has dug things up way too soon, way too often.

Also, baby ginger is good pickled, if you want to try that route.

From what the internet has told me so far:

Potentially salvageable but may not produce a proper harvest until next year.

As for baby ginger, I was pouty so I didn’t dig for a root. No idea if theirs enough to pickle.

I’ll probably just wait till next year. This is my pouty week so to speak, my hearts not into fixing it right now. I do appreciate your good advice tho friend. :black_heart:

Just wanted to say again that I apologize for ripping it out. It was tucked underneath the herbs and it just looked out of place and kinda like a giant blade of grass. Once Scott realized what I’d done, and told me it was ginger, I tried to put it back in its home.

As recompense, I will gladly help you grow a ton of ginger next year. Deal?
