These are various projects I have been trying to work on for the last few months but hadn’t been able to find time for until the last week or so.
Here is a belt to wear a Katzbalger (a type of short sword from Germany in about the 16th century)
And here is one for a rapier. It requires a much more complex suspension system to keep the end from swinging around and whacking things behind you one hook attaches to the center of the back and the other goes across the front of the waist.
I have also made a pin for my hat (a yellow bronze with a lapis lazuli stone)
A ring for myself (it is silver and a lab grown opal) unfortunately the stone doesn’t photograph well, it looks nicer in person.
And a couple other pieces I made as gifts (also silver and synthetic opal) since I was casting anyways and they fit in the tree.
And the last one is still in progress, a silver and lapis lazuli pendant, the stone cracked while I was setting it, filling it with super glue and polishing didn’t get results I was happy with, so I am planning on dissolving out as much as I can and filling it with epoxy mixed with ultramarine pigment (which was traditionally made of powdered lapis lazuli).
