As Mike Wasowski would say, put that thing back where it came from! I was going to post this in the woodshop forum but I think it applies to the whole space. If you borrow something from an area, put it back. I don’t know where the fan that was in the woodshop disappeared to but it’s not in either space. I borrowed one from hot metal, which I’ll put back when I leave, but I have no idea where the one that was here went.
Edit: I did eventually see the tiny black fan tucked away near the chop saw. Is there only that one fan for both wood shops?
Just walked the building, checking doors and windows and I think the fan that was in the woodshop is in classroom 3. There’s also a fan labeled tormach there that seems out of place. Also several of the fans in classroom 3 were left running
And a window next to the Craftsman lathe was left wide open.
From all of this, I think we can safely say that people are not cleaning up after themselves. And people are not walking the building to make sure it’s secure before leaving.
It may not get better, but I think it bears reminding others to do their part.
I think this is true for all of the spaces. If you pull stuff out to work with, please put it back where you found it. If you open tubs, close them. If you are looking for something and don’t see it, please do not pull stuff out and leave it. Also, if you have issues with any of the machines do an incident report or at least put a sign on the machine. Nobody wants to have to clean up somebody else’s issues before they can use a space. Thanks everybody.
I wonder if it would help to put some signs up on the doors inside each space reminding everyone to clean up before they leave? It seems overly simple but it might help?
