Planer snipe

I was just curious if there is any methods to help mitigate snipe on boards being sent through the planer. I’m probably too much of a perfectionist for my own good but was just seeing if anyone had any suggestions.

Feed boards end to end. Lift boards as they go in and come out. use sacrificial boards that are longer than your actual work pieces.
I find the results of the above methods either perform less than 100% or to be just as wasteful as sacrificing 7 inches per board to the snipe. Waste can be kept down by planning when a board is at it’s longest. When we have some more money and better dust collection I will be bringing a drum sander into the shop which acts much like a planer and gives no snipe but does has its own eccentricities.
Keep demanding quality results!

thanks a lot for the advice! I’ll have to try those out when I’m in again.
