Unfortunately, this oak tree needs to go. I could use some advice on whether it is worth anything or just needs to be firewood.

Check the local sources on the wood shop page in the wiki. Some of them use local trees.

Yes the trunk is valuable for slabs in my opinion. Firewood the rest oak is great. I would consider slabbing the trunk with my saw and sharing the slabs if you could get it down.

I would not have any use for slabs but would consider selling the trunk.
