The MakeICT board of directors is considering the purchase of the former Booth Elementary School. This decision is contingent on membership approval, financing availability, zoning and inspection findings among other things. As any relocation will have a significant impact on the members and the organization as a whole, we are encouraging all members to attend an open house at the site:
When: Sunday, April 28th
Time: Any time between 3-7pm
Where: 5920 East Mt. Vernon (west of Woodlawn, across the street from Cessna park)
You can take a tour and talk with us about comments or concerns. Afterwards, a vote will be conducted to gauge member interest which will be used in part to decide whether we move forward with the purchase.

That building was A LOT larger in person. I’m excited that the smallest room could easily fit 20-30 pottery wheels and a kiln and still have enough room to breakdance in the corner. We could actually start having real pottery classes! Weekend karaoke in the concert hall? I think we should go with the extra $5k, so we can have all the extra equipment, riding lawn mower, chairs/tables, pool table for our game room, bbq grill, smoker, ect(I’ll volunteer to mow a couple times a month). Maybe we can pull crawfish out of Gypsum Creek right outside the backdoor and throw them in the smoker with some baby back ribs and veggies. Maybe get some teams on the basketball court? The amount of parking is what I like the best. I think we could easily fit over 200 cars on our lot. Maybe have some weekend car shows to promote our space? Maybe sell makeict smoked ribs as a fundraiser at our car shows?
The possibilities seem endless. I’m excited!! I think anyone who would be against this move is just plain goofy!
