Mario got a little fiery tonight

This evening during a cut on Mario, a little flame came up and stayed on while cutting (not while etching), then went out when the cut was done. After it was noticed, the program was stopped and the laser turned off.

We put an incident report on the table so any future users would see it.

I took a look last night. When I turned on the machine I noticed that it was too quiet; the air assist pump was not running. Checked the back and found that it was unplugged. Highly unlikely that this happened accidentally, so I’m assuming it was done intentionally. Because the air assist was not running, excess smoke accumulated on the lens, causing it to burn, overheat, and crack. This also tends to cause cuts to be more fiery due to the fact that the burning material is not being blown out of the cut.

Will Mario will be down until replacement parts are purchased? If so, is there an ETA?

I’m going to finish cleaning it up and replace the lens today.
