I’ve been wanting to try this for a while but kept putting it off. 1080 steel blank, 1/8 inch thick strap cut down to shape. Was going to freehand a grip and have a leather sheath but I think now I’m going to knock the nubb in the middle off and cut the handle bit into a tang for a traditional uniform tsuka/saya.
Waiting for 1)the brass for the spacer between the tsuka/saya and 2) the zebrawood planks for the tsuka/saya.
Still need to DIY a bevel jig to grind the edge uniformly.
