Is OpenBuilds a drawing program ? I’m not sure.
I use CarbideCreate which came with my Shapeoko XL and also have Vetric V-Carve Desktop.
With either of these you can easily see your X-Y values by clicking on the setup icon. No need to view the project itself or look at G-Code.
Could you post a picture of your setup. For Sunday morning giggles I have a picture of my setup. Nothing fancy here.

I am so sorry to hear you got COVID. I have had many friends with it and know it can be really awful even if you don’t get hospitalized. Hope you are better soon and back to making
