Hi there. Someone did round bottom bowls and glazed the entire bottom in black and I was wondering how you did that? Is there a specific glaze or just one that doesn’t run and use a cookie? I have some round bottom hand built bowls and I want to glaze the entire outside but unsure how to do it safely

You are likely seeing the bowls that were made using black clay. The clay itself is black.
Please note though that many glazes don’t play nice with black clay.
Another option is Mayco black engobe which doesn’t stick to the shelf if not applied too thickly. A cookie should be placed under the engobe to be safe, but it typically doesn’t stick and leaves a matt black finish.
