Ready to try your hand at quilting? Join me in the Textiles Room for a fun and hands-on beginner-friendly workshop where you’ll learn how to piece a quilt top using the Rail Fence pattern. This easy-to-follow design is perfect for quilters new to the craft and will give you the skills you need to get comfortable with piecing fabric together.
Materials:
-Materials are not included in the class fee.
-Bring your own 3 one-yard pieces of fabric, or purchase a fabric bundle from the textiles room for $10.

Session 4 of 4
Introduction to designing and building stained glass art projects. Students will learn fundamental safety for handling glass and the basics of designing, cutting, foiling, soldering, framing, and hanging Tiffany style glass art. Flat work, 3-D build, special techniques and finishing will be explored. See Session 1 for full description.
Restrictions:
Due to the nature of the medium and processes being used, no one under the age of sixteen years of age will be allowed in the glass work area without PRIOR approval of the instructor.
Prerequisite: Attendance and participation in Session 1, 2, & 3 of this class.
Instructor availability:
Typically 30 minutes prior to class session, as well as additional lab hours as published. Additional individual time by specific arrangement only.

Open Lab time for authorized Glaziers. Instructor will be available if individual help is required.
Also, if you are an experienced Glazier and want access to the tools and glass without taking the Introduction to Stained Glass course, authorizations may be performed during open lab times. Instructor will cover safety requirements, tool usage, and a skills assessment for a particular skill level. Successful completion of an authorization will add the Glazier to the authorized user list.
Use of tools and/or materials without proper authorization is prohibited.
Maker Monday is our open house event. It’s a great way to experience the makerspace and the maker culture in person. You’ll learn all about our space, tools, policies, people, and how we operate.
Our tours are free and open to the public. While you are welcome to just show up, we prefer that you register in advance so we have enough members on hand to assist with our tours.
You are welcome to hang out and chat after your tour. There’s always something interesting going on at Maker Monday!

Learn to use the 80 watt CO2 laser cutters at MakeICT. We will discuss the capabilities of the machines, safety rules, and operation in flat mode. Participants will complete a small project using Inkscape and LightBurn software.
Intermediate computer proficiency is recommended. Users should be comfortable with web browsing, Windows file folder navigation, copy and paste shortcut keys, and mouse operation.

This class is for those interested in using the CNC ShopBot in the woodshop. During the class, students will design a wooden ring on Easel.com and carve out said ring on the ShopBot. Carving on the ShopBot is quick and accurate, so each person will have the chance to operate the ShopBot themselves and take home a small token of their hard work.
