Creation of handcrafted cards - The Series
With these tight times, we can come up with creative ways to share with others in a tangible, unique, and personal way through handcrafted cards. With minimal cost, we can make cards that are individual and specific for an occasion.
Materials and tools can be found everywhere. Lace scraps, ribbon, material, paper of all sorts, and other notions are all around. Scissors, rolling pins, water, ink, glue are common tools we likely have at home. Mix these all together and Viola', a masterpiece (or at least a card) is created.
Explore the how-to-do's and where-to-find throughout this class.
All necessary materials supplied. All you need is imagination.

In this hands on pottery class participants will have the opportunity to make one 12" - 13" plate or tray, or two 6" - 7" trays. With my guidance you'll design and hand form your piece using the slab method.
Once your piece is constructed, you'll have the opportunity to decorate it using a variety of techniques - choose from texturing, carving, and painting with underglazes to bring your vision to life.
While your tray sets up for the application of underglaze (approx. 20 - 30 minutes of drying time), you'll also get to make two small round trinket plates. These bonus pieces are perfect for experimenting with the decorating techniques you've learned.
After the session your pieces will remain in the studio to dry (about 3 -4 days) before being bisque fired. I will then apply a clear glaze and fire them a second time. Your finished creations will be ready for pickup in approximately 3 - 4 weeks, depending on drying time and kiln schedules. I'll notify you as soon as your items are ready.
All materials - including clay, tools, underglaze, and clear glaze are included in the class price.

~Learning basic stitching foundations and how to build upon work neatly and turn work to reverse direction.
~learn how to make your stitches come out even tidy, spaced, fluffy and what to do to to avoid warped pieces
~Learn crochet language and how to interpret basic patterns. ~Understanding what hooks you need for what types, sizes of yarn, and project types, with Q&A
~ help setting realistic goals to advance you to next stage for success to prevent frustration leading to failure or quiting
~bring #4 yarn dense stable yarn that is NOT: plush( doesn't squish flat )too soft lacking structure and density, too stringy (easily split by hook). NO chenille/velvet yarn. no super fuzzy- felted-brushed-furry-eyelash yarn. **Choose light colors yarns too dark deep colors inhibit visual learning cause frustration slow progression **
#4 crochet hook & #5 and/or 5.5 hook (if your buying yarn please get 'I Love This Yarn' brand from hobby lobby)
~Requirements: Healthy fine motor skills. POSITIVE and DETERMINED ambitious ATTITUDE ready to learn and have a little grit and PATIENCE with yourself to get over the begining bumps and Victoriously CONQUER the beginning trial and error. must be willing to make lots of VALUABLE MISTAKES that significantly FUEL YOUR GROWTH! Getting past the very beginning coordination and mental multitasking is the hardest part...past that the rewards are endlessly satisfying! BE KIND, empathetic and encouraging to others, no competitive/showoff as this is highly discouraging and emotional to others who are Truly struggling. Instead be an INSPIRATION to the possibilities of what they can achieve! Everyone learns differently and I am adamant about maintaining a SAFE SPACE to do that I meet every student right where theyre at and cater my one on one help to each individuals Neurological and Emotional needs and their I pay attention to your Learning Language. Your part is to Communicate to me your comprehension of what I directed and feel comfortable expressing if you didn't understand.
NOTE:If you are a very beginners and know just the basics you are still welcome and I can help you with with aids that u didn't learn first time around and help advance you to your next stitch or in whatever specific things you are working towards to set you up for success in your next project goal but If class is really full/large it is very time consuming teaching first timers so if you are established with beginner stitches and don't still need help or questions then I suggest taking my intermediate/advanced class but do a class request for what your specifically looking for example " working in the round" (for amigurumi stuffed animals) or "granny square " for blankets or specific technique/style like "Tunisian crochet" which I will teach this summer. call me with questions or phone consultations to find out if this class will meet your needs. If u need help with yarn/hook questions
