This is a group of MakeICT members who are interested in building a guitar. We will try to bring in some luthiers, people who have previously built guitars and any other resources that a person might need who is interested in building a guitar. (Be aware I have never built a guitar in my life... I just think it might be easier to do it with other folks doing the same. :)
This is the kickoff meeting. If someone who is not a member is interested, have them email ladeana@makeict.org and we can discuss adding you to the group.
Basic Python

This is a very basic Python class. I am not an expert in Python... in fact I am only 1/3 of the way through 100 days of Python on Udemy. (Sometimes it is good to learn from people who are not the experts :) )
What I expect us to learn:
o Understand Python's syntax and data types
o Master control flow structures (conditionals, loops)
o Work with functions and modules
o Utilize core data structures (lists, tuples, dictionaries)
o Handle errors and exceptions
o Explore basic file handling
o Develop problem-solving skills through hands-on exercises
I expect to use the latest version of Python and PyCharm because that is what I am familiar with.
The class will start out learning the basics and then as we do that I expect to find things we are interested in to program.... like a D20 dice roller or some other semi-useful or cool things.

Learn to use exotic materials safely in our shared space. Participants will learn how to clean re-claimed wood, test for lead paint, and adequately clean up after the use of exotic woods. Once authorized, participants will be allowed to use exotic woods in the woodshop at any time. Expect to get dirty. Participants are encouraged to bring respirators if they have one, though dust masks will be provided.
*This CAN be taken before being authorized for the woodshop, though the use of the tools in the space would still require Woodshop Authorization.
The instructor of this class may be slightly late. If so please be patient, if more than 5 minutes have passed or your just very anxious then use his phone number (posted in the woodshop) to call and confirm he is in route.
