This series is being presented by MakeICT, Wichita’s Maker Space. Proceeds benefit MakeICT Institute.
Ewan is 7, and Grandpa John is a Grandpa type. The series is for kids 7 through 10. We will accept a parents concept of 7 to 10 years. Some kids are ahead of others, Some kids need more help.
The primary requirements are First: An interest from the Child. And a responsible Parent Type that will accompany the child to sessions and is available to work with them at other times. The Parent Type is welcome to learn with us. One Parent Type may sponsor two children. Use the Sign Up Form on line. More information will be emailed.
The 2nd Meeting will be 10:00 am for 45 minutes to 1 hour on Saturday October 31, 2020. We will begin a series of beginning electronics. Learning such concepts as current, how to wire an LED, and other hands on activities like making a battery. These session will use some videos designed for students of this age group.
The cost for this session is $43.75 members and non-members $48.75. This will cover a starting kit with items that can be used over 5 or 6 immediate sessions, and specific addon’s for specific projects. There will be hands on during the session and work between session for the child and parent type.
Limits will be set at 25 at the start. Each session will build on the previous sessions. Initially the classes will be held virtually, due to restrictions from Sedgwick County and the City of Wichita. After these restrictions are lifted, the Parent Types will be involved in deciding to bring these sessions into the MakeICT Class rooms at 5920 E Mt Vernon.
