Please try to keep our janitor closet clean and tidy for everyone to use.
Linda reported today that the Janitor Closet in the South hallway was a mess when she arrived for our weekly cleaning service.
After use, the mop head should be removed, washed, and hung to dry so that it does not build up mold. The vacuum cord should be wrapped as neatly as possible on the vacuum so that the next user does not have to untangle a poorly wrapped cord.
You assistance in this appreciated.
Man! Part of me wants to be glad that somebody at least tried, but it sucks when it makes more work for the next person.
I know, I had a hard time writing the post because I don’t want to discourage members using the available tools to clean up the space.
ehh, the mop head was on me…
It took a while to find the handle, and then I didn’t think to put things back how I had found them and just assumed it was better to let them drain while still on the handle.
So when the mop head is drying, is it better to lay the head over the sink?
I don’t recall the vacuum being like that when I left though.
Bad on me I guess.
Excellent question about the mop head.
Yes, laying the mop head over the sink to dry is optimal but if you’re pressed for time you can also leave the mop head in the upper bucket of the mop cart so that the fibers can drain and dry.
Could we (by we I mean you) print a placard showing how to leave the mop? That seems like something not everybody would intuitively know.
Speaking of printing placards, do we have a color laser printer?
Good suggestion.
Printmaking printer is color and laser.
